When a mid-market company modernises its IT service desk, HR, facilities and finance usually ask for the same intake and tracking soon after. Choosing a platform that cannot serve them means a second tool later, so the fit finder on this site asks which teams will use the platform.
When we first read these vendors' pages on 27 September 2026, only a few described use beyond IT. A second read on 11 October 2026 found that almost all of them now do. This post sets out what each platform's own pages say. Absence from those pages is not proof that a product cannot do something, so treat any gap as a question for the vendor.
Which platform names AI agents for the most departments?
monday service. Its product page lists IT, HR, procurement, customer support, facilities, finance, marketing, legal, and learning and development, with pre-built agents for HR covering benefits, employee lifecycle, and payroll and compensation. It now headlines an AI Service Workforce of agents that resolve repetitive requests and route complex ones. The pages do not state which plan the departmental agents come with, so confirm that before you budget.
Which platform includes ESM in the price?
Halo (formerly HaloITSM). Its pricing page lists enterprise service management as standard: HR service delivery, finance and legal, facilities, an employee portal, approval workflows and multi-department routing, all in the single per-agent price of £69 a month as a UK list price on 11 October 2026. Onboarding packages are required with purchase at a bespoke cost.
Which platforms give each department its own space?
Three vendors describe separate spaces for each team.
ServiceDesk Plus lets you create service desk instances for HR, facilities, finance, legal and other departments, which ManageEngine says takes under 60 seconds, with a unified portal and AI at no additional cost per instance.
SysAid says one platform runs service for IT, HR, finance, facilities and legal, with a secure service space for each team and segregated data and permissions.
Freshservice sells Freshservice for Business Teams for HR, finance, facilities and legal, with requests, approvals and tasks with built-in SLAs and routing, and says no ITSM implementation is needed. Pricing is not shown on that page.
How do Jira Service Management, Ivanti and Zendesk describe it?
Atlassian's Service Collection guide says it extends service management beyond IT to HR, facilities, finance, customer support and legal, with Jira Service Management as the core app.
Ivanti describes HR service management, for onboarding, offboarding, case management and employee self-service, and facilities service management, for work orders, maintenance, space reservations and site access, on the same configuration database.
Zendesk runs customer service and employee service on one platform, with a self-service employee portal from Suite Growth. HR-specific workflows are not detailed on its Employee Service pricing page, so we mark it as partly documented.
What about ServiceNow ITSM?
ServiceNow describes self-service through EmployeeWorks, a portal, chat, voice, email, mobile, Teams and Slack. It sells departmental products beyond ITSM, but those pages were not part of our sources, so the fact grid marks this as partly documented.
What should you check before extending?
Five things decide whether extending works in practice:
- Licensing: does each HR or facilities person who works requests need an agent or seat licence? Requesters are usually free, but portal caps can apply. monday service allows 10 portal users on Standard and 100 on Pro.
- Privacy: HR cases must be visible only to HR. Check that queues and knowledge can be restricted per department, as SysAid's segregated spaces and ServiceDesk Plus's separate instances aim to do.
- Separate catalogs: each team needs its own request types, forms and owners without seeing everyone else's.
- Approvals by amount: finance and procurement requests often need approval chains that depend on value.
- Ownership: decide who owns platform settings and who owns each department's content before the second team joins.
How does this affect the finder?
Answering that IT, HR, facilities, finance and more will use the platform makes departments beyond IT a must-have and gives the portal more weight. Because most platforms now document some route for other teams, that answer rarely rules anyone out on its own. The difference comes from your other answers: whether AI agents should resolve requests from day one, how much ITIL process you need and who will run the platform.
